Purpose of Document:

 

The purpose of this document is to define the function, non-functional/technical, and

 

business requirements for the Grant Management System. The Grant Management System is

 

designed to simplify the grant management process into three (3) basic functionalities: Create,

 

Update, and Read.

 

Business Requirements:

 

This project is intended to assist fund-seeking organizations in administering and

 

automating the grant management process by reducing time spent on grant-related activities with

 

the implementation of an automated system that will allow users to create, update, and read grant

 

information with ease. This system will be built to solve the problems of a paper-based system.

 

Additionally, it will make for easier and more efficient electronic record keeping of grants and

 

allow for accurate organization for users to better analyze grants electronically versus printing.

 

Scope:

 

The objective of Grant Management System is to establish a repository that will be able

 

to perform three core functionalities. They are creating a grant, updating an existing grant and

 

users being able to Read the grants, on the web portal.

 

Functional Requirements:

 

Functional requirements describe exactly what the Grant Management System should do.

 

Below are four (4) functional requirement groups for the Grant Management System.

 

a) Functional Requirements Group 1 ? Homepage

 

1.1 ? Allow user to choose applicable task(s) (create, read, and/or update).

 

Priority: Must Have. Type: Task.

 

1.2 ? Direct user to chosen task(s) (create, read, and/or update).

 

Priority: Must Have. Type: Task.

 

1.3 ? Search option will direct user to either ?read? and/or ?update? task using

 

alphanumeric and/or non-alphanumeric entries.

b) Functional Requirements Group 2 ? Create

all times.

text boxed populated must be greyed out).

 


 

c) Update

1.3 ? User must be able to edit the information populated via search query.

 

1.4 ? All boxes become editable immediately after user clicks on 'Update'

 

tab on top of the page.

 

1.5 ? User must be able to make edits in any column under the header.

 

1.6 ? User must click away from the text box for the new information to

 

be saved.

 

1.7 ? User can update information and to see if information has been

 

update, they can click back on 'Read' tab above of the page.
